Easter Monday 1 April Egg Rolling and Decorated Eggs Competition

11 am Outside the 5 Elms

Weedon Village Association's traditional Easter Monday event. Bring along your hard-boiled eggs for Easter Egg Rolling down Stockaway. Whose will go the furthest? Open to children and adults. 

Also a Decorated Egg Competition for all ages, and Children's Easter Picture Colouring Competition.

Make sure all entries are presented by 11am for judging.

Friday 5 April Schoolroom Cafe

10.30 to 12 noon The Old Schoolroom Weedon

The monthly community cafe with funds going towards the upkeep of the hall. Come along for freshly brewed cafetiere coffee, a range of teas and home-made cakes from Weedon's talented bakers. Book swap - bring along books you have read and swap them for others. Everyone welcome. Takeaway available for cakes and bakes.

Tuesday 9 April Tuesday Club Talk "A Number of Parliamentary Scandals"

8pm The Old Schoolroom

An intriguing talk by Colin Oakes, whom we know well from previous meetings. Always entertaining, with well-researched 'insider' information. Tea and coffee afterwards. Non-members welcome (£5) with no pre-booking needed.

The Old Schoolroom 7pm Weedon Old Schoolroom AGM, followed by 7.45pm WVA AGM

Come along to find out what these two key village organisations have been up to over the last year, and their plans for 2024-25. Offer your ideas and your help to keep them flourishing. Wine and nibbles provided.

WEEDON PARISH COUNCIL

Parish council meetings will normally be held in the Old Schoolroom. General meetings are on the third Tuesday of every other month at 7.30pm. The next general meeting is on Tuesday 21 May 2024. Meetings are advertised with at least 3 working days' notice on the main noticeboard and the Forthcoming Parish Council Meetings webpage.

As at 15th March 2024, following the resignation of a councillor, a Casual Vacancy exists. If at least 10 electors request it within 14 working days, an election must be held to fill the vacancy. See formal notice on Weedon Parish Councillors link here.

Weedon Coronation Celebration Jazz Picnic May 7th 2023

We all had an amazing afternoon on the Park enjoying a 17-piece jazz band accompanied by picnics, Five Elms street food and the WVA's tea and cakes. The celebration cake was a tour de force - home made in Weedon, thanks to Lizzy and Charlotte.

The Weedon charities make grants of financial assistance to villagers in December. However, additional grants will be considered at any time, particularly in the current coronavirus situation.Please apply for EDUCATIONAL purposes (Dr John Bridle's Charity) or GENERAL NEED (Lord Fortescue's and Dr John Bridle's).
