Best Kept Village 2022 - We WON the Gurney Cup

The judges scored us with 191 out of 200 - the highest we've ever had. They commented:

Overall appearance very good with virtually no litter at all. Clear evidence of community involvement. It was a pleasure to walk around the village ... A clear winner and very well deserved.

Weedon Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

The Weedon Platinum Jubilee Street Party on Friday June 3rd was a wonderful community event. Martin Rodnight made a record of the day in still photos and a video.

Tuesday 23 August 2022 Tuesday Club Coffee Morning with Bring and Buy

10.30 am at White Cottage, East End. Bring something which can be sold; buy something yourself. In aid of Florence Nightingale Hospice.

Saturday 3 September 2022 Weedon & Hardwick Art, Craft and Produce Show

The Old Schoolroom all day. Why not have a go? It's fun! Categories for everyone, including lots for kids. Deliver your entries 10 - 11.15 am.  Open after the judging 2.30 pm. Auction of produce 3.15 pm. Tea and cake for sale.

Sunday 4 September 2022 Barn Dance in a Marquee

4-7pm We are very lucky to have been offered the use of a fully erected and decorated marquee, so will be holding a barn dance with our own Weedon resident caller.  It will be an all inclusive event for adults and children.  Tickets will be on sale, adults £7.50, children (under 18) £5.00. There will be a BBQ and cash bar.

Sunday 11 September 2022 Jazz on the Park

Late afternoon/early evening. David Batchelor has offered his wonderful jazz band to continue this popular free "just turn up" event. The pub will open and hopefully we will be blessed with lovely weather again.

WEEDON PARISH COUNCIL

Parish council meetings will normally be held in the Old Schoolroom. General meetings are on the third Tuesday of every other month at 7.30pm. The next general meeting is on Tuesday 20 September 2022. Meetings are advertised with at least 3 working days' notice on the main noticeboard and this website.

Weedon Parish Council has published its Notice of Public Rights and Annual Governance and Accountability Return for the year ended March 31st 2022.


 

WEEDON CHARITIES - Apply for grants

The Weedon charities make grants of financial assistance to villagers in December. However, additional grants will be considered at any time, particularly in the current coronavirus situation.Please apply for EDUCATIONAL purposes (Dr John Bridle's Charity) or GENERAL NEED (Lord Fortescue's and Dr John Bridle's).
