COVID UPDATE RESTRICTIONS FROM 5th Nov to 1st Dec 2020

WEEDON PARK and CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND will remain open.
You can exercise or visit the Park and Playground with: the people you live with, your support bubble, or, when on your own, 1 person from another household. Children under 5, as well as disabled people dependent on round-the-clock care are not counted towards the limit on two people meeting outside.
WEEDON OLD SCHOOLROOM. Community centres and halls must close except for a limited number of exempt activities, including childcare, foodbanks and some medical/support groups. There are none of these currently going on in the hall, so it is effectively closed for the period.
FIVE ELMS PUB AND RESTAURANT is closed for attendance in person. Open for takeaway drinks and food (pre-ordered), including Sunday lunch with a choice of roasts. A takeaway Christmas Day lunch is proposed.
WEEDON CHAPEL and St Mary's Church HARDWICK. For the time being, all weekly services planned for public worship are suspended and the buildings will remain closed until further notice. Check for online services.
WEEDON PARISH COUNCIL will continue to hold online public meetings, which will be advertised on the main noticeboard and this website. The next general meeting is Wednesday 20th January 2021 at 8pm on Zoom, and there is an interim meeting on Wed 2nd December at 10.15am on Zoom to consider some urgent items.
Contractors for the council will be continuing their operations (grass cutting, leaf sweeping, street light maintenance etc), as work is done outdoors, usually by individual workers, under a covid-safe regime. The Clerk works from her home office.

WEEDON CHARITIES - APPLY FOR ASSISTANCE
The Weedon charities make grants of financial assistance to villagers in December. However, additional grants will be considered at any time, particularly in the current coronavirus situation.Please apply for EDUCATIONAL purposes (Dr John Bridle's Charity) or GENERAL NEED (Lord Fortescue's and Dr John Bridle's).
