Buckinghamshire Council Notices of Local Elections

Weedon Parish Council

6 candidates for Weedon Parish Council were nominated and have been appointed from May 7th 2021 without the need for an election. The remaining vacancy will be advertised and filled by co-option.

Buckinghamshire Council Wing Ward

Elections for Buckinghamshire Council Wing Ward will be held on May 6th 2021. THREE Councillors are to be elected.

Easing Covid lockdown in Weedon

WEEDON PARK and CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND

Open. Outdoor gatherings of either 6 people (the Rule of 6) or 2 households are allowed from 29th March.

WEEDON OLD SCHOOLROOM

Open for very limited activities. Only a very few activities are possible from April 12: supervised activities for children, parent and toddler groups, wedding receptions and wakes with up to 15 people, non-essential retail. More community activities are permitted to start again from (earliest) 17 May, with covid-secure capacity limits to allow social distancing as required.

FIVE ELMS PUB AND RESTAURANT

Open outside for drinks only. Pre-ordered food takeaway-to-reheat service will continue.

The Five Elms will be open Monday to Saturday 5-9pm and Sunday 2-5pm for drinks OUTSIDE, with table service, contactless payment or cash, and everyone must check in with their details. No food except the existing takeaway menu.

WEEDON CHAPEL and St Mary's Church HARDWICK

Closed for services until Sunday 23rd May, when there will be a service for Pentecost at St Mary's, and thereafter the usual public services. Funerals and weddings are permitted at church with restricted numbers (30/15 respectively).

WEEDON PARISH COUNCIL

will continue online public meetings, which will be advertised on the main noticeboard and this website. The next general meeting is Wednesday 19th May 2021 at 8pm, which will be the first meeting with the new complement of parish councillors following the election.

The Weedon charities make grants of financial assistance to villagers in December. However, additional grants will be considered at any time, particularly in the current coronavirus situation.Please apply for EDUCATIONAL purposes (Dr John Bridle's Charity) or GENERAL NEED (Lord Fortescue's and Dr John Bridle's).
