Thursday 1 May 2025 LOCAL ELECTIONS for Buckinghamshire Council

Polling station for Weedon residents is The Old Schoolroom open 7am to 10pm.

You need to take photo ID to vote in person. 

Weedon is now in the Quainton ward of Buckinghamshire Council. Just ONE member will be elected for this ward. Please check the Buckinghamshire Council website for full details.

Friday 2 May 2025 Weedon Old Schoolroom Cafe with VE Day Celebration

10.30 to 12 pm The Old Schoolroom

A 'special edition' of the Cafe to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE (Victory in  Europe) Day. Patriotic decoration, 1940s background music, Union flag cake and a display of old photos from VE Day in 1945.

Come along for freshly brewed coffee and a range of teas, plus cakes home-made by our talented team of Weedon bakers. All proceeds towards the upkeep of the hall - a registered charity. Bring books you've read to exchange in our Book Swap.

Tuesday Club 13 May 2025 "Creating a Wild Haven with Wildflowers"

8pm The Old Schoolroom 

An evening in association with Weedon Wildlife Group and a topical talk by Andrew McCarthy.

Tuesday Club arranges varied and interesting talks and presentations by experts in their field - history, nature, travel, antiques - and more. Tea and coffee afterwards. Everyone welcome to all dates with no pre-booking required. £5 for non-members. Or just £15 for the whole 12-month season.

WEEDON PARISH COUNCIL

Parish council meetings will normally be held in the Old Schoolroom. General meetings are on the third Tuesday of every other month at 7.30pm. The next general meeting is on Tuesday 20 May 2025. 

6 parish councillors were formally nominated for the 1st May election, and elected uncontested. The remaining vacant seat will be filled by co-option after the first meeting of the 4-year term.

The Annual Parish Meeting facilitated by the Parish Council will be on Tuesday 27 May 2025 at 7.30pm in the Old Schoolroom. Come along to hear reports from the last year of the PC and the other Weedon community organisations all at one meeting.

Meetings are advertised with at least 3 working days' notice on the main noticeboard and the Forthcoming Parish Council Meetings webpage.

WEEDON CHARITIES - Apply for grants

The Weedon charities make grants of financial assistance to villagers in December. However, additional grants will be considered at any time, particularly in the current coronavirus situation.Please apply for EDUCATIONAL purposes (Dr John Bridle's Charity) or GENERAL NEED (Lord Fortescue's and Dr John Bridle's).
